MVP134: Brendan Carrion on Athoria Games and Marketing in the Modern Age

Hey there!

I recently (relatively speaking) recorded a great conversation with Brendan Carrion, email marketer/game designer/podcaster with Athoria Games in Arizona.

We talked about the nuts and bolts of marketing a game store and getting new customers, what makes Athoria Games tick, and discussed the state of the gaming industry as a whole.

It was a lot of fun and we dug into a lot of what makes the marketing of a game store effective, how to really stand out in your community, and a bunch of other things.

Cheers!

Ps. If you weren’t aware of the wildfires that burned their way through Nova Scotia over the past couple of weeks, they’ve been a real hassle for us at the Manaverse HQ.

This is a shot of our area. We’re behind that tree line, so this particular fire was almost right in our backyard.

Scary stuff, but we came out of it lucky compared to some of our neighbours, many of whom lost their house.

My family and I had to pack up and head to a friend’s place up until last Tuesday and we were running a barebones operation in the meantime, hence the delays in both the newsletter and any new content.

But we’re back at it now. I’ve got another interview in the queue right now that I’m going to release this Friday, and at least one additional round table episode yet to be recorded!

Plus we’ve got some more Black Lotus edition interviews to put together and officially launch, so lot’s happening this summer.

Also, if you’re interested in making the summer of ‘23 the season your game store marketing really makes an impact for your business, we’d love to talk to you.

Book a call with us and we’ll put together a digital marketing plan for your game store that takes advantage of the most effective ways to sell products online and drive traffic to your store.

The plan is yours whether you decide to work with us or not, so you win either way.

We’ve gotten great results for our clients by running Facebook and Google ad campaigns that measurably drive sales with an average return on ad spend of 4x-6x, creating content that attracts new visitors, creating a social media strategy that drives engagement, building email automations and campaigns that sell, search engine optimization, and accessibility optimization.

One of the biggest challenges in running a game store is having to do everything all the time, which means marketing is usually ends up as an afterthought.

You’ve got customers to help, ordering to do, events to manage, shelves to merchandise. Things to do today… but if you want new customers to find your store tomorrow marketing is crucial.

We’d be happy to help you grow your game store business so you can focus more on the things that matter.
